Questions? Contact using the contact form below.

1. Who We Are

ClearMind for Teens ("we," "us," or "our") is an educational website created by a student-led project team. We provide general health-education information about teen mental health, cannabis, and related wellbeing topics for teens, families, and educators.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit clearmindforteens.org (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version: we collect basic, anonymous website-usage information (like which pages are visited) through analytics tools, and we receive whatever you choose to type into our contact form. We do not sell anyone's information. We do not ask for — and ask that you do not submit — sensitive health information through this Site.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information collected automatically (analytics)

When you visit the Site, our website platform and its analytics tools automatically collect limited technical information, which may include:

  • Pages you visit and how long you stay on each page

  • Approximate geographic region derived from your IP address (such as city or state level)

  • Browser type, device type, and operating system

  • Referring website (how you arrived at the Site)

  • Date and time of visits

This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 3) and is used in aggregate to understand how the Site is used — for example, which topics teens find most useful — so we can improve the Site.

We do not use analytics to identify individual visitors, and we do not use them for targeted advertising.

2.2 Information you choose to give us (contact form)

If you use our "Contact Us" form, we receive the information you type into it, which may include:

  • Your name (if you provide it)

  • Your email address (so we can reply)

  • The content of your message

You are not required to use the contact form, and you may provide a school, organization, or parent's email address instead of a personal one.

2.3 What we do NOT collect

We do not ask you to create an account, log in, or provide a password. We do not collect payment information. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information — including information about your mental or physical health, diagnoses, medications, or substance use.

Please do not send us private health information. This website is educational, is not monitored 24/7, and is not a substitute for professional care. If you need support, see our Safety & Disclaimer page or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the U.S.).

3. Cookies and Analytics Tools

The Site is built on the Wix platform. Wix and its built-in analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect the automatic information described in Section 2.1.

We also use Google Analytics, a third-party analytics service, which uses cookies to help us understand Site usage. You can learn more about that service's data practices at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies; note that some parts of the Site may not function properly if you disable cookies entirely. Where required, cookie-consent preferences can also be managed through the cookie banner displayed on the Site.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect only to:

  • Understand how visitors use the Site (page views, traffic sources, device types) so we can improve content and usability

  • Respond to messages sent through the contact form

  • Maintain the security and basic operation of the Site

  • Keep records required by law

We do not use visitor information for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone.

5. How Information Is Shared

We share information only as needed to operate the Site:

  • Website platform: the Site is hosted by Wix, which processes data on our behalf as a service provider.

  • Analytics providers: the analytics tools described in Section 3 process usage data to generate reports for us.

  • Email service: if you contact us, we may use an email service provider to receive and respond to your message.

  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Site, its visitors, or others.

We have not sold, and will not sell, personal information.

6. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained by our platform and analytics providers according to their standard retention settings. Contact-form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your message and to keep reasonable records of site correspondence, after which they are deleted.

7. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for teens and general audiences. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are under 13, please do not submit personal information through the contact form. If we learn that we have received personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted information to us, contact us using the below contact form and we will promptly remove it.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your state of residence — including Colorado, where this project is based — you may have rights regarding your personal data, which can include the right to:

  • Confirm what personal data about you we process, and access a copy of it

  • Correct inaccurate personal data

  • Delete your personal data

  • Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or certain profiling (we do not engage in these activities)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the below contact form with the words "Privacy Request." We will respond within a reasonable time. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

You can also limit data collection at any time by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings (see Section 3).

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the limited information the Site collects, including using a reputable website platform with standard security measures. However, no website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Links to Other Websites

The Site may contain links to external websites, including crisis resources and educational sources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Effective date" at the top. Material changes will be noted on the Site.
